TLDR: My family and I have been customers at Dunning Toyota for 12 years, but in the past three months our opinion of this dealership has completely changed. The good is that we really like Doug, the service manager, but he hasn't been there in a long time. I also really love my new car, the first car I have ever purchased, but I will have to have it serviced a different location based on our service experience. Barb, the CFO was really nice, and Eric, the General Sales Manager, was also really nice, responsive, and likable. Hunter, who helped me, was patient and did a great job under the circumstances. The bad: Toyota had my car for 79 days, fixed it after 67 days, and then told me it was unsafe to drive when I went to pick it up -- that it had developed a $4,300 problem while in their care. David Clay in service didn't return our calls, Lowell Dunning was somewhat responsive, but basically redirected us to David Clay who would not return our calls and then said he didn't get any of our numerous messages that we left on the number he gave us. Ava rolled her eyes at us in the office and many people weren't wearing masks properly (below their noses or holding them to their faces with their hands), and in the end they were not happy when we said were were going to pay cash, foregoing the interest and GAP insurance. Before buying a car: The brake actuator broke on my 2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid *while I was driving*. My car was towed to Dunning Toyota on March 8th. They told us it would cost $1400, we tried to negotiate, then they said $2200, and finally, 67 days later they fixed it for $1400. David Clay in service didn't answer our calls, even after Lowell Dunning tried helping! When I went to pick it up, I paid, they gave me the keys, then took them back because they remembered they needed to get my car. They brought my car up and started whispering to each other, I heard the words rust, and was told they would drive my car around for a while because of some rust and noises. It was super sketchy and I was already hesitant to drive my car since the last time it had stopped working while I was driving it. Next thing I knew, they handed me keys to a rental car (something they didn't do while they had my car for 74 days), and said I could get my car back the next day because they had to address the noise/lights/and rust that had magically appeared since the week before. I left, and later they called and said it needed $4300 in repairs. In the week between them fixing it and saying everything was ok and me going to pick it up, somehow my car became defunct and dangerous. We decided we would try and see if they would fix it, or if we should consider a trade-in. We were offered $250 for the car, an insult as it has a KBB value of $4000 if in good condition. Eric in Sales became our contact and said he would help us (we were obviously very upset). In the end we got a new car for a great deal because of Eric, which was great, but I felt so uncomfortable in the salesroom with everyone looking at us and feeling judged, especially when it seemed that people became very curt after we said we would pay in cash. They even struggled to say goodbye and congratulate me on my new car. Overall: Doug is great, Eric was helpful, Hunter did his job, and Lowell tried to help, but everything felt kind of awkward and service was uncommunicative throughout the entire process. It's hard to trust a place that puts car keys in your hand and then tells you that car is unsafe to drive.

Very professional, friendly, waiting room is comfortable. The service department has a good flow. I felt safe initially, employees and customers were following safe social distancing practices, became increasingly relaxed the two hours I was there, I'm not sure why.

Excellent efficient and SAFE experience with the service department today getting a tune up/oil change. Waiting room had gloves, hand sanitizer, and seats placed six feet apart. Everyone I saw in the dealership was wearing a mask and everyone kept their distance. It is businesses who respond like this that will do well in the pandemic era. Thank you for your always outstanding customer service.

It was about as convenient as you could get doing internet sales during COVID-19. Tony K was very accommodating and willing to negotiate to get my monthly payment where I wanted it to be. Here's to hoping the new Tacoma lives up to its reliability reputation! Signing on for so much debt is never fun, but Tony was very courteous and patient during the entire process.

I just bought my first dealership-purchased car in over 20 years with the help of Tony at Dunning Toyota. Under the circumstances caused by COVID-19, he managed to help me seal the deal entirely via the internet. It did help that I was set on one particular model of car, so I didn't need to shop around. But honestly, Tony was so patient and accommodating, it made the experience really satisfying. Highly recommend shopping at Dunning, and make sure you tell Tony that Camille recommended him.

At first we were iffy to come and purchase our ToyotA from here, because of the reviews, but as soon as we walked in and Tony greeted us we felt much better. Very nice salesperson not pushy at all. My wife Momina and I walked out extremely confident in our purchase and would recommend Tony to anyone that comes here. Eugene the Finance manager was really nice too!

Dunning Toyota is my new favorite car dealership! This is my first Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, and I had many questions about the technology and about Hybrids. I worked with Dusty and he was incredibly helpful. I never felt any sales pressure, and he was able to answer every question that I had. Most impressively, even after the purchase was complete, I reached out with a question, and they promptly called me back.

Have a service issue on the car and so far they've been very responsive so go in and ask for Sarah, no pressure she'll just help you find what you like!

My husband and I bought our 2017 Toyota Rav4 from Dunning and we worked with Jeff Root. We had a great experience and really appreciated Jeff's knowledge and friendly personality throughout the process. He made the process as smooth as possible (even on a week day when our scheduled were tight). The car we purchased had a bit of a smokey smell to it and Jeff took care of it. We brought it back in and they cleaned it inside and out and the smell is completely gone. We are really happy we went with Dunning and highly recommend working with Jeff! We love our new car, thank you!

I wanted a Prius Prime Limited, which is a more popular car on the east and west coasts, and is therefore not routinely allocated to dealerships here in Michigan. I called Dunning and they ordered it for me, no problem, just the way I built it on the Toyota web site. I received calls from Dunning alerting me to events like the order being accepted by Toyota, the date my car was built in Aichi, Japan, and when it was available for pick-up at the dealership. On pick-up day, I received a fair price for my 2004 Prius and came home in my 2020, all without a hitch. Thank you to my sales team of Jason Kersey and Beth Bashert, and anyone else that helped get my Prime delivered and prepped for my arrival!
